How do I make Background Wallpapers?

I want to be able to make backgrounds like the ones on

But i want to use Photoshop to do it is it possible?

And if so do you know a good tutorial website to show me how?

It will take LOTS of work to get to the level of those sites.

it's totally possible with Photoshop though.

as for tutorials, googling "photoshop tutorials" will yield about a billion results.
