Question:

How do I make a DVD with files on my computer that will play on my DVD player?

So I have some video files on my computer (some are avi and some are mpeg and some are wmv and one is mpeg-4...which seems to be different) and I want to put some on a blank DVD I have. So I have the files and the blank DVDs. Now I want to know what to do to make these files play on a DVD player if I burnt them onto a DVD.

Also, a less important, but still something I would like to know is: Is there some way to make a quick menu to select the different video files from or will I just have to have them play in order with no way of selecting specific ones?

I think this answer is going to be a little complicated and I'm not too familiar with this. Please give me a good amount of explanation. Thanks.

  3. not complicated at all. "IF" your DVD player is Divx encoded it will most likely play files in almost all of those formats you listed. the only one I'm not sure about is wmv.  Just load them onto a DVD as a data disk.

When you load the disk into your DVD player it will bring up a file display menu almost like you see when you explore windows .

They will be in the order you loaded them, but you can play them in any order.

Your "Quick menu" is what will show when you load the disk. If your avi's were in folders you will see folder view. if they weren't you will see the avi, mpeg symbol with title.

This all is of course assuming you DO have a Divx encoded DVD player.

    hope this helps.
