How do I make a filter for my 200 gallon goldfish pond?

Does anyone know how to make a filter for my pond using a pump and some sort of mesh and lava rocks?

it would be cheaper for you to buy one than to make one your self it would also be easier to fit into the pond out of site

Main thing a filter needs is to have water flowing over some sort of filter media.

A simple filter can be built using a large plastic barrell. You just pump water into the top and let it trickle down through a layer of filter sponge and lava rocks (or some other substrate)

Have a drain hole in the bottom that returns the water to the pond.

It's simple, and if you make a wooden box to disguise things it wont be too ugly.

If you had to buy all the parts, it's often cheaper to just go and buy a filter, but if you have a pump and a barrell you are 3/4 of the way there already

I'm not very sure. But i am a fish expert. You can buy really good ponds for cheap prices at lowe's. Most of them come with filters
