Okay I have an idea on making fire. I know what the bow thing is but what kind of "natural" string can I use for the bow instead of belts or shoelaces?

This is in Canada btw.

  1. You can use solar energy instead

  2. WHAT....are you some kind of 'Earth' hater?? Making a fire will increase your carbon footprint and you could possibly, most likely lose control of it and burn your house down or even worse a field of grass,a forest and increase the pollutants.Shame shame shame. If you truly cared for our planet you would be content to be cold and eat cold grass instead of recklessly living as a modern human.

  3. A flint and steel is much faster.  Just make a "bird nest" of dried grass, strike a spark and blow.  If you want to use the bow and board method, you could use hemp or jute for your string (find them in the craft or hardware store.)

  4. Generally something stringy would work like tall grasses or water plants strung together.  Animal sinew works but gathering something along the river bank would be more reliable.  Thin strips of bark from a young willow tree might work.

  5. dude you can't make fire without technology unless you wait for lightning to strike:) see the invention of fire was one of the things that help primative man settle down

  6. step 1: build a trap,

    step 2: catch the dragon

step 3: taunt it until it blows fire in your direction and then run out of the way as quickly as possible

  7. friction my friend....use to dry bamboo sticks and very dry leaves....

but be patient ...it would take time...

  8. 2 wooden sticks

  9. Animal sinew would work best.  It is strong and plyable.
