  1. easier if you buy those course booklet.  have it photocopied and enlarged and write down your notes

  2. Go to the course

    Draw the hole

pace certain knowledgeable distances off and record them

Draw the slope of the greens and pace depth and width

  3. To make a yardage book, you would need a couple of things. Firstly some laser binoculars. These will tell you the distance from where you are standing to a specific point. Secondly, I would look at something like GoogleEarth. Downloads pictures for the course that you want, and then go around with your binocs and find the distance for each Tee to a spefic point on the hole, and then to the green. This will take a bit of time and effort but if would be a lot easier with todays technology than in the past ... good luck

  4. Swing consistency aside, one of the best things I ever did for my game was some caddying and to really hone in on course management.

As such, I decided to write a pdf about making a yardage book and now offer it for free.

Please let me know if you find the information in there useful.

    Regards,

    Matt
