  1. It does not sound like a beginner project.

  2. Homebuilt wind generators are simple and easy to build. I did it myself to get power to my garage and it was cheap to build.

  3. Get a Heavy Duty truck alternator, bolt a propeller to it and mount it on a pole. You now have a wind generator with a built in voltage regulator.

Attach wires to the appropriate bolts on the back of the Alternator. Attach the other end of the wires to 12 V. batteries.

Attach the 12 V. batteries to an Inverter that changes the 12 V. to 120 V.  Now you can power your TV, etc. until the batteries go dead and you need to recharge them.

  4. Log in and ask here: http://www.fieldlines.com/section/wind

They have windmill seminars from time to time.

  5. homebuilt wind  power generators can be built with just a few parts that you probably already have laying around your home.

If you want to power household items like TVs, washing machine etc then you will need an inverter.  These are quite cheap though.

I got my instructions on homebuilt wind  power generators from http://www.earth4energy.com and it made life HEAPS easier for me.
