How do I make a nice Vegetable Pulao, with the rice remaining white ( basically less masala )?

  1. as kalls said, it is the masalas that give colour. avoid them. you can also cook the pulao in half a cup of milk, for exra whiteness.


  2. Try this recipe.

    1.Basmati or normal Rice (1/2 kg)

    2.Cauliflower,Carrots,Green Peas,French Beans,Potatoes (accord ) cubed size cuts.

    3.Ginger-Garlic-Green Chilly paste (accord)

    4.Whole Cloves,Cinnamon stick, black pepper, cumin seeds (1tsp), bay leaves (2-3 each)

    5.Chopped onions (1 medium)

    6.Garam masala powder (optional a pinch)

    7.Curd (3-4 spoons)

    8.Salt (accord)

    9.Lemon juice (few drops)

    10.Chopped coriander

    11.Oil or Ghee (3-4 spoon)

    Wash and soak rice for 20 -30 minutes depending on the quality of rice later drain keep aside.

    Make oil or ghee hot on low flame add no.4 once it start crackling put no.3 and stir few seconds.Put no.5 cook till golden pink and becomes soft now add no.2 and stir few minutes by adding salt and cover till vegetables becomes soft  when oil starts separating make flame slow put no.7 mix well cook few seconds now add no.6 & 10.Now add rice stir slowly and mix all well.Add water according now add no.9 cover and cook till rice & veg are done or you can also cook in pressure cooker with 2-3 whistle.Serve with raita,pickle papad etc.



    This will keep color of rice white less spicy & light recipe.It is yummy do try.happy cooking

  3. heat 1 tablespoon oil in a wok add cumin seeds, turmeric powder, and red chili powder to taste. immediately add rice, make sure that spices don't get burn. add salt to taste, garnish with some coriander leaves. serve hot. i like this rich a lot better than veg pulao and it's very easy and quick

TO MAKE VEGETABLE PULAO TAKE ONE KILO BIRIYANI RICE.TAKE A BIG BOWL ,ON THE GAS STOVE, PUT THE VESSEL INTO IT,AFTER FIVE MINUTES PUT 3 SPOON GHEE INTO IT,PUT THE RICE AND STIR IT PROPERLY ,AFTER 10 MINUTES ADD 800ML OF WATER,PUT ONE SPOON SALT STIR IT,MAKE IT BOIL TILL WATER EVAPORATES, EASY BIRIYANI IS READY EAT WITH TOMATO SAUCE,CHICKEN CURRY,CHICKEN FRY ETC........

  8. the rice becomes coloured if u add turmaric or chilly powder or tamarid , now if u can prepare vegetable pulao with out these then u can add green chillies instead of red chilly powder , u can use lemon instead of tamrind thats it , i think ur rice will continue to remain white
