I've been looking everywhere and I can't find the information I need... (i.e. ages and number of caribou per age in a particular year) I have to make a population pyramid for one population within the alpine tundra. Does anyone know where I can find this information? Pleeaassee help :(

  1. You need to study the alpine caribou.  Get a grant for your airfare, first, remember to budget enough for a small team of sherpas or whatever, and count every caribou you see.  That's assuming you're aPhD student.

If you're just taking a high school class, make up the numbers.  There are under a million in Alaska and they live a maximum of ten years, so you'll only have ten horizontal lines.

  2. Check Andrewartha and Birch -- Distribution and Abundance of Animals. That should set you on the right path. Someone may have done a population study on caribou since the book was written and that would give you better figures. If the population is a healthy one, the "pyramid"  should be a triangle.
