Question:

How do I make a safe fire that will smoke as little as possible?

thinking of going camping in my back yard basicly, i want to make a fire. probly not best idea but just for arguments sake if i wanted to make a small fire to roast marshmellos on but be sufficient enough to keep me decently warm but i dont want it to smoke alot or get really big so the neighbors dont thinks its a forest fire, help me out?

  1. Use DRY wood, it smokes little, it is the sap in wood that makes the smoke, noticed the ?? in old movies sending smoke signals, they threw green branches on the fire to make the smoke.


  2. Go to a home improvement store like Home Depot and get a replacement burner for a propane barbeque. It has a air venturi that produces blue smokeless flames. Put  the burner unit in the fire pit and use a propane tank away from the burner by using a longer hose so the propane tank doesn't get hot.  If you want to keep it super cheap, use charcoal briquets.
