I'd like to make a rope with rings on it. So that when I go on outtings with my daycare kids they will have something to hold on to. I have found a rope and I have found rings...but I'm not sure how to attach the rings so that they stay in place at the same intervals.

  1. You could simply tie square knots onto each ring at whatever desired interval.  There are many tutorials on the Internet.

www.animatedknots.com  Has some great stuff.  If your rope was long enough you could even tie loops in rope itself using the same knot.  I would mark the rope with a sharpie at the interval you want ( ADD THE INCHES FOR A SQUARE KNOT , I WOULD GUESS ABOUT 6" PER KNOT)  Then just tie those on starting at the mark.  If it doesn't work right the first couple of rings, simply untie and try again until you get the right interval.  You have got this one easy.

  2. It might be just easier to buy one they are not too costly. You can look in various places here is a website for $16.95

Otherwise I would sew webbing onto each ring with a length of webbing between each ring. See the photo in the webpage.

  3. Tie small piece of rope before and after each ring, look in shops for curtain rail style hoops which are a small size to squeeze on the rope but wont move!

Our rope we use is a long blue rope with a series of big knots we tied into it!

  4. tie knots
