How do I make a website not show up?

Like make it say "Page not displayed" or something similar? Do I have to mess around with the cookies? I don't mean blocking it with parental control though. How do I do it? If it's possible.

here's how. might want to backup this file (make a copy) prior to editing, though.

Using notepad, open your hosts file from c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc

Add the following line by itself on one line.

127.0.0.1      whateversiteyouwanttoblock.com

where whateversiteyouwanttoblock.com is the web address of the site you want to block...then save it and reboot your PC
