How do I make all my windows open maximized?

Almost every new window that is opened on my screen, is small. It doesn't matter if I'm online or just clicking on my documents, my pictures, etc.,,,it's always a small window. I've tried every trick I know, but it doesn't matter how I maximize the window...grabbing and stretching to size or clicking the maximize button at the top right..........and no matter how I close the window....by the X at top right or Exit under file......it's a pretty good bet that next time I open a window it will be minimized. I've tried holding down ctrl or shift when I close a window, but nothing works and it's driving me crazy! HELP!

  1. right click all the shortcuts you use >properties >open maximised

if you choose normal, it remembers the size when you last closed the program.

as for setting a default for all of windows is not advisable as it affects popups such as 'save as" in word and its not appealing.

just change the dozen or so shortcuts you have

  2. use your mouse, "grab" the sides and expand the window to as big as it can go. then hit the second square in the middle in the upper right hand corner

  3. Right click the program icon that you want to open.

    Select properties.

In the run box change the value from "Normal Window" to "Maximized".

  4. open the windows and hit the maximize button if you cannot drag the windows larger then hit the maximize button again and using the arrow handles drag the window to a full screen and then close it out...when it opens again it will restore to it last known size,,,,[which in your case will be full windows]

or you can try to open my documents > tools > folder options > view > reset to defaults
