How do I make an edging on a coffee table so I can pour a thick epoxy layer on top?

It is a table with bottle caps, the table itself is sealed and the tops are sitting on it.

  1. You don't.  You make enough acrylic to let it pour evenly off the sides onto newspaper on the floor.


  2. depends on the shape of the table? How are the edges now. Square, rounded? If it has square edges and corners you could use some small trim wide enough to go over the edge and above the table top to the desired height. Either use small nails (brads or sprigs) or contact adhesive. Then pour the epoxy to the desired depth. Stain or finish the trim before doing the epoxy.

  3. Iv'e done this with blue painters tape around the edge. 1/4 to3/8 inch lip to fill w/ epoxy!
