Question:

How do I make baked potatoes?

Is it anymore complicated than dicing them up & just putting them in the oven? Detail- please but keep it as simple as possible :) I'm 15 and just trying to learn.

  1. you do not dice

    Pre-heat oven to 450°F. Wash and dry potatoes.

    With a fork or sharp knife, pierce each potato 2 or 3 times.

    Place on cookie sheet or baking pan. Bake 50 to 60 minutes or until tender when pierced with a fork

    wrap in foil

    bake at 400 degrees for 40-45 minutes

Wash the potatoes, pierce them with a fork, spread some butter or margarine on them, sprinkle with salt & pepper then wrap them in foil and bake in the oven at 375F for about an hour (depends on the size of the potatoes but typically an hour or a little more).  That's about it.  You can even leave out the butter/salt/pepper and just wrap them in foil and bake them.  Just make sure to pierce them several times with a fork!

  5. Scrub the potatoes clean, rinse with water and dry.

    Rub a tiny amount of oil into potato, then prick with a fork all over. (about 1/2 inch into the potato).

    Put right on the oven rack in a 400 degree f preheated oven.  Bake for 45 minutes to an hour.  

    Easy.

  6. i do mine in the microwave. make sure you stick fork holes in it beforehand. then just heat for like 5 mins. you'll know its done when you can stick a fork in it very easy

  7. The best way and easy way for potatoes :

    Wash potatoes

    poke your potatoes in a couple of places

    Rub some oil on them

    turn the oven to 375 degrees

    Wrap potatoes in foil but not neccesary

    bake for 45 to 1 hr.

    take out and open up potatoes put butter on sour cream if you want them and enjoy your potato. Even a 12 year old can do this one.


  8. i always just take the potato, wash it really good, take a knife and cut about an inch into the potato all the way across the top, and then just sit it in the microwave for 4-6 minutes. goodluck. :)

  9. Take a potato and stab it with a fork three times across the top.  Then put it in the oven until it begins to steam through the holes.  Take it out and let it cool.

  10. I love my baked potatoes with a dry skin that is my favorite part is the skin. I scrub the potato and dry real good  then stick a fork in the top about 3 times deep. If you don't puncture the potato to let the air out while it is cooking , it will explode . I didn't listen to those instructions and I had potato all over the inside of the oven , wither you grease them foil them cook them dry they will turn out fine   NUMBER ONE RULE PUNCTURE THE POTATO.

Scrub a whole potato at the sink, getting it good and clean, using dish soap.  Rinse well.  Poke w/ a fork 12-15 times.  Set in your microwave (outer edge of turntable, if you have one) and nuke for 5 minutes.  With a pot holder, turn potato over, give it a squeeze, and nuke another 3-4 minutes.  You will hear it singing to you when it's done. :-)
