How do I make friends in a new country?

I'm moving to a new country soon for work and I dont know anyone there. Any tips on how I can increase my chances of meeting good friends?

Same way you make friends at home- just be yourself, and you will find people who are interested in you. The best friends are people you can relate to, and these people come and go. Just stay in touch with all your friends here, and don't worry too much when you go over. If you are going for work- focus on your job at first and the friends will come naturally.

1.) respect their customs... no silly remarks

2.) act friendly and be helpful

3.) make sure when u talk about ur previous home... u make the story interesting.... this will hook them up to u
