I finally got a job with UPS I go to the University of Ft. Smith AR. I don't want to move to OSU stillwater because I got this job. But I may not be able to transfer there with a job with this company and it is very hard to find a flight school in Arkansas around me to finish my flight training. The one I'm at isn't doing so well. I have a private pilot license and I am trying to work on my instrument rating. The schools here also don't have loans for the flight training.

  1. UPS pilot positions are some of the most desired jobs in the industry.  You'll have a lot of competition to get hired on with them as a pilot.  Recommendations from UPS pilots are HIGHLY valued however.  If you have the chance to work at UPS, use it to make as many friends in the company as you can for the best chance at getting hired on as a pilot later.

If you got hired on as a package loader, driver, or some other entry-level position at UPS, then chances are you'll be able to transfer to a different UPS facility wherever you choose to move.  UPS is always hiring package loaders and drivers.

  2. Try Spartan in Tulsa. I did most of my training there. It's not the cheapest but they have good instructors and you might be able to still get in the 141 program which will save you lots of money. Tulsa has a pretty big UPS center at the airport as well. Roadhouse aviation in Tulsa is also a good FBO, plus OSU has a Tulsa campus.
