Question:

How do I make my TV infrared remote reciever work from a further distance?

I bought an Olevia 5 series 37" a while back, and I thought at first that the remote was the problem. I eventually tried other remotes and had distance problems as well (I have to be like 10 inches away from the TV for it to work). I finally bought one of those fancy shmancy logitech harmony remotes and it STILL had distance problems. That's when I figured it had to be the sensor on the TV side.

Anyone know how to boost the signal from the recieving end?

  1. You could get an infrared repeater. This is a gadget with an IR receiver, connected by wire to an IR flasher which would affix directly in front of your TV's IR sensor. These are generally intended to relay an IR signal to a sensor which is hidden behind closed doors or in a remote location. But by putting the flasher directly in front of your TV's sensor, it should serve your purpose.
