How do I make my camera switch to external memory?

I have a Samsung L200, and just bought the SanDisk Pro Duo 4GB memory card, and I'm trying to find out how to switch from internal memory to external, but it won't. & I can't find an option to switch it anywhere on the settings either. Any help?

That is a big memory card you have there are you certain your camera can handle it? Look under your menu and see if you can format that card to your camera.

According to the specs on the Samsung website, your camera is good up to 8Gb with an SDHC card.

I don't think there is a switch. Usually, cameras will start using external memory cards as soon as they are inserted.

You might need to format the card before the camera will recognize it.

Insert the card into the camera

Go to the SETTINGS menu

Select FORMAT

Select YES

After formatting, a no image message will appear.

Are you sure your camera will accept a 4 gig card? I believe 4 gig's falls under the SDHC(scan disk high capacity) section. Some  older cameras wont accept SDHC cards. 2 gig SD being the largest they can accept.. If you are sure please read the following..

I am not familiar with the SD pro duo. If this is the kind with the "micro" disk and the larger standard size SD "adaptor" then I don't think it will work in your camera. I believe they are only for cell phones,GPS and I pod's.

By inserting a media card(follow the diagram of how to insert the card) it should automatically send pictures to the card. Be sure to reformat the card after every download to the computer to ensure the most memory and best performance(be sure to back up your pc regularly to avoid the risk of loosing all your shots). If not the files might get corrupted, and so there won't be two pictures named the same (eg 1,2,3,4,5).
