How do I make my flight cheaper?

are there certain days better to travel, months? I'm planning on flying from anywhere in Florida to London round-trip for two weeks

Yes, there are months that are much cheaper. They're November-March (except Christmas, New Years, and Thanksgiving, of course.) That's off-season, so airfares and hotels are both less expensive. The weather is not as good but there are also a lot fewer tourists. I actually prefer to travel to Europe off season for the cost and to avoid crowds.

You will probably find that midweek travel days will be cheaper than weekends for leisure fares.

The best way is to do all your flying in the 90s.

But failing that, you flight will probably be cheaper originating from Miami or Orlando than anywhere else. And you don't want to go when demand is high to/from Florida (December through February) and you don't want to go when demand is high to/from Europe (mostly June, July, August. As has been suggested, use flexible searches to find you best fares.

fly during the middle of the week rather than on a Friday.  Avoid holidays.  Priceline/Orbitz/Expedia/Travelocity.  all good sources for flights, however, you can usually find cheaper travel directly from the airline's website.  Also, if you have to change your travel plans and you ordered from sites like Orbitz, it will be more expensive to change.

Check all the travel sites first.  (Priceline, Expedia, Travelocity, etc.)  Once you find the lowest fare, go on the actual airline website and book the same exact flight.  It'll be cheaper and no booking fees.  Plus if you do need to change it, it's easier dealing with them directly than through a 3rd party.

Also, try doing a flexible search to see which days are cheaper.  Usually when I fly nationally, Tuesdays and Thursdays tend to be the cheaper days to fly.  

Oh, you might want to try Kayak.com because you can check multiple travel sites at once.
