Question:

How do I make my hair look healthier, stay in, and uh, look less like algae?

When I was in high school they called me "Algae" because in my senior year I started using hair gel but it didn't quite work. See I have exceptionally frizzy, dry looking, desert fluff hair. When it's dry it sticks out everywhere and doesn't even stick together like you see most people have.

I try leave in conditioner you know, I don't know what else to try, doesn't seem to work. Also, the hair comes out. I must lose like 50 hairs a day which seems like a lot because my hair comes down to my shoulder blades. I'm not going bald, I can tell because the hairline isn't receding and the hair is coming out evenly all over. I just wish I could get it to stop, to stay in. Because although my hair is long, it doesn't have any volume.

Lastly, did I mention its frizzy and dry? It's so bad that I have tried gel, spray, moose, and this cream/foam. The foam (and I think the moose if I remember correctly) holds it until it touches a breeze and then it frizzes out again. The if I use alot of foam or gel it either looks like my hair is plastic and or it hardens so that it hurts to move my head. Plus it never keeps the tail from frizzing (pony tail).

I wish I could just let my hair hang loose but its so frizzy it looks crazy bad and the stray frizzing hairs will curl around and poke my eyes and nose. If it was hair like you see in the shampoo commercials then it would work.. but not as it is. I don't know. Does anyone know what I could do?
