How do I make my homemade minibike street legal?

I live in Kansas. It has a 195 cc engine and 6.5 horsepower. What are the requirements that I am going to have to complete?

  1. You have to make ti comply with all of your State ,Federal and EPA standards.


  2. Contact your local DMV and police department.

    They are the ones you need to satisfy to get it on the road.

  3. Its a motorcycle.

    Make sure it has brakes, turn signals, front and back.

    The right color of turn signal. If you want to make it export ready, install european turn signals, which are orange, front and back, and require separate brake lights. And make sure it has a headlight. and the rear brake light....light up when turned on....

Every device having two tandem wheels or three wheels, which may be propelled by either human power or helper motor, or by both, and which has - A motor which produces not more than 3.5 brake horsepower; a cylinder capacity of not more than 130 cubic centimeters; an automatic transmission; and the capability of a maximum design speed of no more than 30 miles per hour.

    if its above that it will be a motorcycle. You will have to have full requirements of same, lights, breaks, DMV safety inspection, air polution standards ect.
