How do I make my laptop run quicker?

It has really slowed down recently, and it is not that old. I got it in December. Any advice?

Download a program called Tuneup Utilities 2008. It offers a 30 day free trial and will significantly increase performance all around and is very easy to use.

If you're using Windows try Defragmenting your hard drive. This organises everything on your computer and helps it to run faster.

Here's how to do it:

Go to the Control Panel.

Click on System and Maintenance.

Click on Defragment your hard drive.

(Defragmenting could take a few hours!)

Also, having a lot of programs starting automatically when you turn on your laptop may slow it down. They could be just running in the background and you mightn't even need them to. To check what programs start automatically when you start windows go to System Configuration (if you're using Windows Vista just type it into the search box in the start menu) when the System Configuration box opens click the Startup tab. Tick any boxes of programs you DON'T want to start up automatically. (Don't tick anything you are unsure of in case it needs to be left alone!) Then click Disable All. If you ever want to enable them again just go back to System Configuration and in the General tab click Normal Startup. :)
