How do I make my muscles feel better?!?

I'm a freshman in high school, and I'm currently taking Basic Weight Training the semester. Every Thursday, we have lower body workouts, which is pain compared to upper-body, or even the Wellness Walks!

Thing is, is after the lower body work outs, when I get home, my thighs and legs start killing me! It keeps on till the next day, and the day after, not only do my thighs and legs hurt, but so do my arms, shoulders, glutes, neck, and my upper back, right below the neck, that runs to my shoulders.

Please, is there ANY way at all to calm down the pain? I've tried pain pills, and those don't work, and nor does resting. I really need help!

  1. 1 - Stretch during and after your workout.

2 - Walking or running it out sometimes alleviates the pain by disbursing the lactic acid buildup in your leg muscles.

3 - Your body will begin to adapt and less pain will follow in future sessions.

I did my legs workout this a.m... and although sore, stretching and a little cardio eliminated maybe 80% of the post-workout pain.  Best of luck to you!  Don't quit.  Lifting is the key to eternal youth.

  2. try putting a heating pad on the muscles it usually will relax them and relieve some of the tension
