How do I make my text look like this?!?

i wanna know how to do a picture like this.

try micrsoft word effects and take out the print

I couldn't find any tuts. But what you could do is take a pic and then put text over it. Then Cut the pic around the edges of the text then remove the normal text and the outer side of the pic.(this part that you don't want) then add what ever effects you want around it. It looks like in that picture a shadow or glow.

The feature shown above is called masking.

What happens is a picture is used as a background,

and a layer mask is applied over it.

The mask in this case would be the text and the background shown through the text is some islands or what ever it is.

Unfortunetly I don't know anything about gimp only PS

But I suggest looking for tutorials on Gimp about masking.

Use CorelDraw (you can usually find older versions for download).

Bring in the photo you want to use, type the text using a bold font, then use the Powerclip function to use the photo as the 'fill' for the text.

Export to whatever format you want
