If you are asking about your own email address, the whole email address will display when it is your own address.  Others will only see the truncated version on the group.

If you are the group moderator, you will also see the whole email address for members.  Members will see the truncated version (only up to the @) on the group.

However, if you are asking about in email and not on the group, you cannot change this to truncated addresses.  The whole address will always show when messages are received by email.

when posts go to members in individual mail, they will see the full address. the only way to prevent this is if the group allows hiding of e-mail address, and then the address appears as [e-mail], but the down side to this is you cant post from e-mail. you can only post from off the group site.

one may consider using a free web based address, one they don't so much mind if it is seen in e-mail.
