I'm interested in making some of my finished cross stitchings into decorative pillows. They would be small pillows, for hanging on door k***s and such. Any ideas on how I do this I do not own a sewing maching. Any tips or ideas would be great. Thank you.

  1. I make little cross stitch pillows from my small designs all the time. My little pillow look like the ones in this picture:

The only difference is I use a cross stitch around the edge, where this lady used a backstitch. They are very pretty and easy to make. I use ribbon for a hanger. I take my ribbon and tie a knot in each end, put it between the layers and just stitch through it. Stitch all the way around leaving a small opening for your stuffing. Stuff as firmly as you like and finish stitching the pillow closed and you're done. Hope this helps you some.

  2. I have friends who use the fabric glue rather than sewing.  They say it holds up very well.   Good luck.

  3. These would be small pillows, right? Easely sewn by hand. For the back of the pillows you can use lining fabric, has a nice sheen or you can use satin, Color of your choice.Lay out fabric on table and put your cross stich on top. Depending on how fluffy a pillow you want cut the lining at least 1/2 inch more on all sides. Sew the fabric to the cross stitch with the edges even . Oh and good sides against each other. Leave one side open for filling .Turn it inside out and fill the pillow

Sew the opening by hand neatly. Voila! If you like make a loop of ribbon and sew it to the pillow and hang from door.
