I work at a convenience store, and wanted to make scannable barcodes for the items that don't have UPCs on them such as newspapers, gasoline, etc to help out the employees who have a hard time remembering the codes. Like 68 is for gas, 66 for a newspaper, 103 for a $2 lotto ticket. I wanted to keep them at the register to make checkout a little quicker.

  1. The bar code scanner is expecting a UPC code longer than 3 digits, so one you make wouldn't be likely to scan.
