Question:

How do I make sure that music isn't deleted off my iPod when I try to sync new music from an outdated library

My iTunes library recently crashed. I was able to recover about half of my library. My iPod still contains all the media from before the crash. However, I recently purchased new music and now want to sync it to my iPod. I am worried that if I plug my iPod into the computer and try to sync the music that it will sync the new music but delete the music from my iPod that is not in the library.

Will that happen? If so, what can I do to avoid it?

  1. I would open up iTunes, and change your sync settings BEFORE you plug your iPod back in. Like where you can set it to sync/ manage music automatically (change it to manual), to make sure it doesn't swap out the entire library on your device.

You should be abel to look at the music on your device, and just drag and drop the new songs from your library, to the iPod, once you plug it in, after adjusting settings.

    I think...;) Good luck!
