How do I make the downloads for Sims 2 apear in the game?

ok i know ive downloaded everything correctly the meshes the mods everything and they dont require expansions or anything how come theyre not showing up? i enabled custom content and everything!

I think there is a custom content folder, I can't remember though.  The reason I can't remember is I've used Modthesims2.com, where they have for free download a "Q-Express installer" so when you click download, instead of clicking the download button you click the "Q" logo and it installs into the correct folder and shows up in the game.  I think if you can figure out what's wrong, then fix it but if you can't then try modthesims2.com and try to find all of your downloads again and put them in using the Q express.  I hope I helped!

I know this woman who has a site dedicated to this very issue.

It is a free "hobby" site and she is a pro at the Sims2.
