How do I make the paint stick?

I'm painting one of those cheap particle board entertainment centers, but the paint keeps coming off every time it gets bumped. Is there a way to make it stay w/o sanding the entire thing?

  1. well.. primer..

suppose if you mixed glue with the paint..  (don't do this unless you are bored!)

you could put electromagnetic field around it for then it will not be bumped..

    well.. good luck!

  2. use a product called esp or tile and melamine primer promise it will work if you use as a first coat  you will need to sand down  your board first

  3. I would gather to say this is a factory finish you are wanting to change, your going to need special paints, you'll also need to degloss the finish first, Acetone might work or Laccquer Thinner, if you sand the finish it will show in the paint finish, Why not use laminates from Wilsonart they have some real nice laminates to choose from, you can oredr them from Lowes or Home Depot, then you just use contact cement and router the edges and you'll have a new entertainment center at the cost of laminate and glue. and your time
