How do I make this lion I drew in photoshop better?

Question

I don't have much confidence in the way I highlight and burn certain parts, so I want to know how I can make it better.

Well, you might want to consider putting in more highlights and shadows, but dont use the burn tools. Use a lighter colors to highlight and then after done with that, use another color that is even lighter and also keep in mind to keep your opacity low.

I also suggest in adding more textures to the fur. Try dabbing the image with dark and light colors for the fur and mane. Dont just make it one solid color. The mane needs a lot of work though. Dont ever settle for less.

Highlight the left side of his face and mane a bit more. It's a little too dark.
