How do I make two computers in the house get internet at the same time with a wireless gateway modem?

I have two computers, one is upstairs and it's the laptop which Im using right now and I have the smc wireless gateway modem all set up here so my laptop is not connected to the internet wirelessly. The other computer, which is the problem here, is in the basement. its just a regular desktop and it has no internet connection whatsoever. therefore, Im wondering how I could make the desktop computer gain internet connection also because this wireless gateway product I got is suppose to wirelessly give access to multiple computers in the house at the same time, but I dont know how to make that happen. what must I do to the desktop computer in order to give it access to the internet along with the laptop's internet Im using right now? thanks.

For the desktop in your basement to get wireless internet. You need to go to walmart and buy a pci wireless card and install it into your computer. When you have that set up then your computer can wirelessly access the wireless modem and your laptop will be able to access it wirelessly too, and at the same time. As far as I know a wireless modem is not limited to only one wireless connection.

Make sure you encrypt your wireless so that nobody can drive by your house and use it for free.

I recommend WPA(1) or WPA2 encryption.

just buy a PCI Wireless card cause it's stronger that usb wireless flashes , and set it up ... search for the wireless connections you will find your wireless network

Get a powerful router, one that can get thru heavy construction materials. That should do it.
