I got my friend a pretty bad gift but I haven't given it to her yet.

How do I make up for this bad gift? I.E. writing a jokeful funny card with it to lighten it up, coming straight out and telling her I'm horrible with gifts, saying sorry, etc.

I got her The Goo Goo Dolls Great Hits- i figured most she'd like goo goo dolls because of the their songs like Iris and whatnot. =/

  1. Oral.

  2. Actually, that is not a bad gift at all if she likes the Goo Goo Dolls - she may really love it.  If she hates the Goos, she will probably hate the cd too, may as well just return it and get a gift card.  Can you take her out at all for her birthday - dinner or a movie or both if you have the funds.  Flowers and or a cake are usually a hit too.  Unless she is terribly materialistic or has spent a fortune in the past on gifts for you, chances are she will appreciate anything you put a bit of thought into for her birthday.  Good luck!

  3. shes lucky to get a present you dont need to apologise or make up for doing something nice.

  4. Poetress is right.

Return what you got and get her a gift card to a store you know she likes.

My boyfriend just did the same thing for me for my birthday. He had NO IDEA what to get me, so he got me a huge bouquet of flowers (simply lovely) and gift cards to Victoria's Secret and Dillards. I loved it!

  5. When a gift is given in friendship and kindness, there is NO SUCH thing as a BAD gift. Only gifts that are not appreciated.

Even the gift of a simple Bic pen, a sheet of paper, envelope, and a stamp. (Price less than $0.75 ) is a good gift.

A friend should thank you for any gift.

This is coming from someone with the nickname of Green Gopher!

  6. If you haven't given it to her yet, you don't have anything to make up for!  Just go get something better and she'll never have to know.

  7. return what you got and get her an American Express giffcard with a funny note attached to it letting her know you're not good at it but you know that this giftcard will definitely put a smile on her face when she purchases the gift you wish you had the skills to purchase for her. She'll love it appreciating the thought and gesture
