How do I make windows media player my default music player?

Control Panel>Auto Play

That's if you use Vista.

Open up WMP.  If it has the File, Edit, etc. menu at the top, click on Tools.  If not, right-click on the Windows Media Player icon in the top left-hand corner of the player and it will show the menu buttons.  Click on Tools, then Options.  In the Options menu, go to the File Types tab and select all of the files types that you want Windows Media Player to be the default player for.  Then click Apply and Ok.  Hope that helps.
