All of the sites given different and conflicting instructions! :( Please help! And if you're a 38A and your friend is a 34B, does that mean you're fat but you have small b*****s, while you friend is thinner but has bigger b*****s? Or is a 38B bigger than a 30C in terms of b*****s but not waist and etc.? What's fat; is 34 average? I'm so confused! Please help!

  1. 38 is the size of your back. Being 38 doesnt necessarily make you fat, you can have a broad back. A or B is the cup size, which is the size of your b*****s. The average woman is like, 34 B or something like that. So if you have a C cup then your b*****s are bigger than someone with a B cup. A 38B is bigger in terms of waist than a 30C, but the 30C is smaller in waist and bigger in b*****s.

    Hope this helps!

  2. Cup volume-wise, a 38A is bigger than a 34B. However, the 34B b*****s are going to look bigger on a woman than the 38As. Am I making sense? Take two women - one with a band size 34, the other 38. The 34 lady has B cup b*****s, and the 38 one will have A cup b*****s. Although the 38A b***s are bigger, when actually on a person the 34Bs will look bigger, as they're B cups on a frame, not A cups. The same with 38B and 30C. The smaller the number, the thinner the woman. So, the 30C woman is thinner and her b*****s look bigger on her frame.

Regarding how to measure your bra size - measure just underneath your b***s. If the number is even, that's your band size. If it's odd, and 1" to get your band size. So, for example, if you measured 27 inches under, your band size is 28.

Now measure around the fullest part of your bust. Subtract the band size from your bust measurement and you get the cup size. So, if you measure 33in on your b*****s, and your band size is 28, then 33 - 28 =5. AA is 0 inches difference, A is 1, B 2, C 3, D 4, DD/E 5 etc. So, with a 5in difference, your bra size is about a 28DD/E. (N.B. in the UK, that would be a 28DD. In America, some manufacturers would call it 28DD, others 28E).

    UK sizing goes: AA, A, B, C, D, DD, E, F, FF, G, GG, H, HH, J (don't have 'I')

    US sizing: AA, A, B, C, D, DD/E, DDD/F, DDDD/G, H, I, J, K etc.

Bare in mind this is a very rough guide. Tape measures shouldn't really be used because a lot of the time they don't work. They can be used to give you a starting point if you didn't know your size. E.G., if it had said you were a 30D, you may try it on and find the cup too small, and in fact end up walking out with 30Fs.

  3. The number is your band size or the size around in inches that your chest would be if you had no b***s at all.  To get this number you measure under your b***s and add 2,3,4 or 5 inches (depending on bra manufacturer and how tapered your chest is.  The letter is your cup size.  For every inch that your bust (measured around your chest at the fullest part of your b***s) is bigger than your band size is a letter.  A cup - 1 inch bigger.  B cup - 2 inches bigger, etc.
