How do I meet/find Rastafarians in America?

I just moved to Miami (18)

My parents are originally from Kingston,Jamaica ( not rastas)

I live with my mom and asked her about what she already knows about rastafarians and she only knows alittle but a decent amount because her neighbors were rastas but she didnt really have rasta friends

Anywayes back to my question.............

How can I meet real rastafarians?

Im interested in them just in general for how they live peacefully and religious as well as there belief in not eating meat and natural and organic "ITAL" food even though I dont plan on being rastafarian im buddhist

I would like to meet some people and befriend them how do I find some though here in America?

Im originally from queens,NewYork and will move back there for college at NYU so also advice on rastas in New york would be welcomed

Im asking this here because i thought fellow jamaicans could help me out more compared to the other areas on Y!A

Jamaicans aren't the only ones that follow Rastafarianism. Try going to more organic places. Most areas with high rasta populations have a few shops and restaurants geared toward them. Also Miami has lots of festivals. See if you can find a festival or concert that rastas would frequent.

rasta's are everywhere really but theres plenty in florida. go to jamaican festivals you will defitnally find them. if u ever go to jamaica go to saint annes bay =] they love it there

Hi!My dad is a rasta(or at least hangs with loads of them....lol)I cant stand ITAL food!

I am from Miami too! In Miami, you can find a Rasta man anywhere down there,especially around Miramar and Ft.Lauderdale. The best place is healthy Jamaican restaraunts--because they like natural foods..Places to start would be places like a organic juice bar resturant.

I've havent been to New York yet but I do know they have a large Jamaican population too. As with Miami just look for healthy food restaurants where they serve ITAL foods such as Irish Moss,Sorrel, etc..,

I dont know any Rastafarians personally, but I do know you picked two of the best cities for finding Jamaicans in general.
