How do I meet someone at the airport?

I'm flying into the Detroit Metro Airport in a couple days. The person coming to pick me up has no cell phone, so I can't communicate when I'm there. I know how huge the place is. How can I figure out what area of the airport I'm gonna enter when my plane gets in?

It's going to up to your friend to find you, he or she will need your flight number and time of arrival and check the message boards to see what gate and terminal you'll be arriving at. Otherwise arrange a predetermined place to meet, most airlines have certain terminals and gates that they use on a regular basis or if you have mobile phone, he or she can always call you from a payphone.

The best thing you can do is to let your friend know what your flight number is and when it's scheduled to arrive.  What airline are you flying on?  With some airlines, you can call ahead and give them the flight number, so that you know what gate the plane will arrive in.  If you can't find eachother, try to find someone who works there and ask them where you can page your friend.  Someone will announce on a loudspeaker that you are waiting for your friend at such-and-such location.  That way, your friend will know where you are.

With security the way it is now you would be best to meet your friend at baggage claim area.Just let them know in advance that you will wait for them there.
