How do I minimize the file size of a movie?

I'm trying to transfer some videos over to my palm but the file size is too large. Is there any program that will shrink the file size or convert the video into a smaller format? I'm so technologically challenged it isn't funny :/

Do you have or use any video editing software? Most contain a built in compression for this very purpose.

go to a site called doom9.org or just google file ( or video ) converter.

Doom9 has free video converter programs

or you can load the file into Windows Movie Maker and then publish it as a different type of file ( it will show you the file size for each ) and save it to your computer .
