  1. Connect the iPod to your PC. If iTunes starts syncing (ie erasing) your music automatically, hit the X in the upper right hand corner of iTunes display, to the left of the search box, to stop it.

In Control Panel, Portable Media Devices, double-click your iPod.

In the Tools menu -> Options, in the View Tab, check "Show hidden files and folders."

Navigate to the Music folder. On my 2nd gen 'pod, the full path is

    Portable Media Devices\GINA'S IPOD (F:)\iPod_Control\Music

Select all the music folders, and drag and drop them into a folder on your hard drive, or directly into iTunes.

  2. I'd use a pendrive

  3. just get a usb plug in, plug it into ur computer and drag all your songs into it. then redownload itunes on your new computer then plug the usb into the new computer and drag all your songs into the new library and there ya go!

these usb plug in are pretty cheap. you can get them at staples, drug stores, or circuit city.

    hope i helpled!

  4. download itunes on your new computer, and if you have an ipod, just plug it in and it SHOULD put the songs on your new itunes.

  5. ah yes.... this is not as tricky as it sounds. However, you can only move songs you bought, not downloaded from CDs. when you open up itunes, the very top bar with all the things like file, edit, control etc. will have a drop down menu called store. click this and choose the option authorize computer. you enter your password and stuff and you get all the songs you ever bought from itunes. however, only 5 computers can be authorized at one time. you can deauthorize computers that you no longer use. sorry other people but it doesnt work to just copy from a flash drive or cd. and ipods cant paste their music into a computer

  6. I use the aniosoft iTunes backup tool, which can help to backup the itunes library, restore library to any computer and share itunes music with others, also it's easy to use and works great. You can have a look of below review site. It has detail introduction and provides free trial download.hope it useful.

  7. Make sure you have the newest version of itunes on the computer you want to move it to.  Then connect your iPod to it.  It will say that the computer isn't authorized and ask if you want to authorize it.  You say yes.  It will upload what's on your iPod. That only works for stuff that you paid for through iTunes though.

To copy the stuff you downloaded from other places (i.e. Limewire) follow the instructions from this site.

  8. Although my personal preference is to keep a backup of my music library on an external hard drive so I can transfer it between my computers or restore more easily in case of a crash you can also transfer the files from your iPod to your computer.  There are a few programs that will let you transfer files from an iPod to a computer. The first is a program called iDump which is mainly for transferring files from iPod to computer and can be very useful if your computer deletes your music. The other is a program called iSyncTunes which will allow you to manage music between multiple libraries and your iPod. Both programs are free and both are Windows compatible. If you happen to have a Mac iSyncTunes has a Mac OS version and there is another program called Senuti which acts much like iDump for Mac. All of these programs are fairly easy to use and you can find assistance from the company websites if you get stuck.
