Question:

How do I move pictures from my camera to my memory card?

I have an Olympus Stylus 850 SW and I just got it last week. I've been taking pictures with the memory card inside and I don't think it's in the memory card but still in the camera. I tried reformatting, thinking it was reformatting the memory card and ended up deleting the pix in my cam. Does the memory card that comes with the camera really have so little space or does is it not connecting with the card? What do I do?

  1. i know this may sound like a stupid question but is the memory card in right cuz i think that mine might be able to go in two ways but only one way works i dont have the same type of camera but that is my suggestion maybe take it to a store and let a worker there see if they can help you. good luck!!!

  2. What size memory card are you using?

I could be wrong but I think your Oly should recognize your memory card  the second you slide it in , it should switch from internal to xD.

Though if your card is something like 16-32 mb (which is a standard for gratis cards you get with a new camera), you won't be able to shoot many pics with it.

You should look for at least 1 gig.

Go back to the store you bought from and ask.  If you bought it online, email Oly's support (or phone, there's probably a # you can call).

edit: I  remembered that your type of cam usually doesn't come with a free memory card. But it does come with a micro adapter. So, are you sure you're not confusing the adapter with an xD card? If so, you're only working with internal memory and need to buy a memory card.

  3. idk good luck

  4. I don't know.

  5. The software, Olympus Master, that came with your camera should download the photos from the camera to your computer. I don't think you are able to transfer the photos from internal memory to your card.

Here the support page at Olympus for your camera.

    http://www.olympusamerica.com/cpg_sectio...

The related info in the manual are on page 46.

Edit: If your camera is not using the memory card, it might need to  be formatted. Go to the Set Up menu in the camera. Scroll thru the list until you see Format. After formatting the card, the camera should recognize it. If you still only have the internal memory available, I would suggest trying a different card. If that doesn't work either, your camera might be defective. Contact Olympus support at the web address above.

  6. First I would try connecting the camera to my PC. If the PC asks for an installation CD, then insert it and program to your PC. I f that does not work, you can try to look at your camera's menu and look around. Some cameras allow to move internal memory media to be transferred to a memory card. If that doesn't work I would either take a look on the camera's manual or take it to a specialist. Hope This Helps!

  7. try harder

  8. You need to have a look in your User Manual (page 54). It's under the heading of...

    "Additional Shooting Tips and Information".

Recording Pictures to the Internal memory &

    Using a card (optional).

It will explain everything for you in black & white...

Also, turn to pages 36-37 for advice on Formatting.

And, make sure you have a decent capacity memory card (1GB minimum). 1GB = approx. 1000MB.

  9. umm open it up in my computer then there will be 2 folders when you click on ur camera one Olympus Stylus 850 SW then on something like memory card take the ones in ya u know what to do
