I'm in 7th grade and I have been training in ballet for 5 years, but I still have trouble not almost falling over when I do grande plies in 4th and 5th (mostly 4th) without the barre. How can I improve this and not get all wobbly?

  1. 1. Hold your spine, neck, and head straight.

    2.  Keep your arms in place, rounded.

    3. Look straight ahead.

    4. Turn out your legs (especially back one) as you go down

    5. Think of pulling up while you go down, rather than focusing on going down.

    6. control your muscles; don't relax them one bit.

    7. try not to let your heels leave the ground too soon.  in other words, don't lift your heels up on purpose, too soon.

    8. yet, don't put too much weight on your heels.

    9. when you do grande plies at the barre, try not to grip too hard, or loosen your grip on the barre a little more each time.

    that's it, hope i've helped!

  2. really hold your center.

dont stick your butt out and hold your back up well

  3. Keep your back straight. Pull up your stomach muscles. Contract the muscles in your legs as you enter into the grande plie.

  4. Center your weight between both feet evenly. pull up, and make sure your arms are tight. also don't look down.

    It is hard....... experience!!!!
