How do I not let OCD ruin my good time?

My birthday is tomorrow, and I'm planning on taking a trip. However, I have OCD and this can cause me to worry constantly, and now I'm worried about my trip now. I'm worried that I'm going to ruin it by constantly... worrying. Yes, that might not sound so bad but you have to have this disorder to know what I'm talking about.

Anyway, how do I not let this get in the way? Thank you...

  1. Yea do things to keep yourself busy.  I used to have a big OCD problem (stove, lock, car door locked when I'm at work).  Then when I was at work I always was so busy and didn't think about any of that at all.  Just realize that there's nothing you can do about it while you're out having fun.

If it's that bad you should really consider getting help.  There are medications and therapy that can help you deal with this.  OCD is very common and most people just don't want to get help, even though they really need it.  Don't be afraid.  Good luck.

  2. watch a lot of television. it distracts ppl from worrying.

  3. Keep yourself busy, with reading, writing , or listening to music. Also you need proffesional help. Therapy and medications are good options.

    God bless

  4. how can i answer with out you worrying?

  5. OCD is part of the anxiety family. You and I are in the same family, psychologically speaking. I have GAD, Generalized Anxiety Disorder. Whenever there are any changes happening in my life, my anxiety level goes sky high. I take an anti-depressant and anti-anxiety medication. However, when things are too hectic for me, I take extra meds. Sorry, I guess that isn't very helpful. There seems to be a lot of us worriers out there. So, you're definitely not alone!
