I cannot open in PS raw files that I shot with my Canon 40D yet I can open raw files shot with my 350D. Is there another way of opening the raw files in PS CS2 without having to use Adobe DNG converter? I already have the camera raw plugin 3.7 but that's no good when i can't open raw files from the 40D.

Hmmmm!

  1. Have you used the DNG converter?

  2. When you open your file in photoshop do you go to file> open or File> browse.  If you are only going to file open and the option to open your image is not available try the browse option which will then initiate Adobe Bridge which has lots of raw format support

  3. You may need to go to adobe site and update your camera RAW files. As new cameras are added that were not supported in the original file Adobe issues new RAW files to cover them. It would be great if all RAW were the same but it is not. Its easy to update and usually fixed the problem. Adobe has done several such updated this year along> I had to do this for my D-300. Remember the software may have been in development on the shelf before your camera model ever came out. Adobe has been good on quick updates

    you can get it here
