How do I open a key lock inside my house without a key?

i need to unlock a room in my house that needs a key to unlock it...i tried the credit card thing but it didn't work...is there anything else i can do?

Hire a locksmith to come out and open it

uncoil a paper clip and try that

use a butter knife and 'jimmy' in same as you would with the credit card

You might try other keys that you have and gently try them.  In older homes some locks are similar.  You might have to call a locksmith.  Once I had to take a door off the hinges because a door got locked by accident.
