Question:

How do I open a lock with no key?

I locked myself out of my home office. I have tried picking the lock with a paper clip, and a DIY tension wrench. I have also tried using a card to open the door. It appears to be a standard doorknob lock like on my front door. I don't mind destroying the doorknob (with a drill or otherwise), I would just prefer not to destroy the door or call a locksmith.

  1. By now, it should have past 15minutes, I believed you got it opened. If not, try to hammer the doorknob, but you have exercise the correct strength as not to damage the door. Strike directly strong enough & a few try will do.

  2. take a 1/2" drill bit and start drilling the lock, once it grabs the metal, it will twist the lock open, usually takes about 2 seconds

  3. You need a flat piece of bendy metal, bit thicker than paper clip. You will have to bend it into a jagged zig zag shape like this

^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Then you push it in the lock at an angle, pushing it upwards, then push down hard and twist, and it should open.

We have a door in our house with a lock, but we have no key, it got lost years ago, and every now and then it gets locked by accident, so iv mastered the art of opening it now!!

  4. I am sure you are not going to misuse the technic.

There are leavers in each lock at left and top of key hole. Which can be activated by a thin-hard angled wire.

It is in traditional locks only and use the technic at your own risk.  The Locks opened by this technic, will not be defective.

  5. Well what kind of door is it? Can you find a picture off of Yahoo or Google?

  6. if you drill it . It will bite, so hold the drill tight. There is also a chance breaking the drill bit.

  7. If you can get to the door pins remove them and open the door.
