How do I open a port to make my torrents go faster, this is my first time using torrents so i am a newbie!?

Also if I forgot my password for my ip address which i heard you need, how do I reset my router without losing my internet?? or do i even need to reset it if I forgot?

If your forgot your routers' password you do need to reset it, find the little reset button in the router, usually you can't press it with your fingers you'll need a paper clip or something thin, and press it for about 10 seconds, you'll only lose internet for a couple of minutes, unless your router have some sort of special configuration check this with your internet provider.

Once you can access your router's configuration, go to the firewall section and find something that says add user-configured application or something like that, create your application with the port you want to open and chose the computer that will host the application and that would be it.
