How do I organise at guard of honor for my friend's wedding?

One of my girlfriends is getting married and I have been thinking about organising a guard of honor for when she walks into the church. Is that still done? and if so do we walk in after her or what?

Only if you are in the military, police or fire departments.  Otherwise it is just a charade.

It's a military thing. Are the bride and/or groom in the military? If not, it's not something that should never be done. It would be very disrespectful to the military because it would be a charade.

Only if she or her fiance are in the military, fire or police.  If one of them is in the military, then by all means, do it!  You'll have to call a local reserve unit (unless they're near an active-duty base) and tell them what you need.
