How do I pack light for a school camping trip on wednesday?

I am going on a camping trip with about 30 other students on wednesday, to the new forest in hampshire.

Last time, we went on a practise trip to prepare us for this one, and unfortunately i made things so hard for myself by packing loads of junk.

i need changes of clothes etc and food

can anyone suggest what foods are lightweight? what sort of clothes are lightweight but warm?

  1. pot noodles , savoury rice packets , rye vita , bananas , nutty bars , apples , potato mash packet , packet soups ,

    one pair jogging pants ( ron hill )  one shorts , one overtrousers waterproof , t shirts ( 3-4 ) , one fleece , one waterproof top , one waterproof hat , boots , flip flops , gloves socks , sleeping bag , tent , pans , cooker , gas , water container ( 1 litre )  .  vest and thermal pants ( long johns ) with them on you won't feel the cold . towel & wash kit .

    stop moaning you can do it , get it done ! it's not a fashion show and you don't need three of anything except socks and t-shirts .


  2. ok food can be made light easily, take things like noodles, not pot nooodles those things take up too much room but like instant noodles u can cook in like 5 minutes, take lots of wee snacks like chocolate bars etc but dont bring anything that will take up much room and for like breakfast things something like pain au chocolat or something like that are good, u don thav to cook them and u like cereal, if they get a bit crushed it doesnt really matter

    for clothes take one pair of shoes that will keep ur feet safe, dry and warm, bring as many tshirt as ur going to need, make sure u hav a change of clothes because u never know what could happen, light weight trousers are perfect because u can scrunch them up small and if they get wet then they will dry off faster than jeans, in fact dont even consider taking jeans they will weigh u down, bring warm socks, again just as many as ull need, bring waterproof trousers and jacket, a waterproof jacket can also act as a wind block effectivly,

    bring at least 3 fleecy jumpers with u, if it gets cold u will neeeed them trust me!!!!

    warm gloves can make a huge difference

    some people take warm hats but if u hav a hood its not essential

    this is all stuff from experience but everything will weight u down despite the light weight changes basically dont pack anything u didnt use on the practice, good luck!
