its a mill like this

I sold it on ebay, it weighs about 30lbs. I think it's used to fabricate parts. It was my uncles but I never used it. I never shipped anything like it. I should be careful because it's precision machinery.. I'm not sure if a big box and packing peanus would be sufficient.

  1. No, the parts have to be supported.

    I'd disassemble it as much as possible. It looks like the assemblies (two cylindrical parts) can be removed. And the sliding portion on the bottom can probably be removed. And wrap each piece in bubble wrap.


  2. Yes, a sturdy box tightly packed with peanuts will be sufficient for this tool.  

    It would be best if you can disassemble the machine into a few major parts that can be packed separately.  This will give you the best chance of having everything arrive undamaged.

    You just need to make sure that each of the components is well insulated on all sides.
