How do I paint my nails....?

Everytime I paint my nails they always get dents in them. People say that you should apply a coat of clear, 1 coat of color, a 2nd coat of color, a coat of clear, and then let it dry in between each coat. I do this and it never dries properly. What am I doing wrong? I use to paint my nails once every 2 weeks until this started happening. Could the polish be too old? How long should I wait for each coat to dry?

The polish could be too old. It thickens as it ages & won't go on smoothly after about 6 months (or a lot of use). I would wait about 10 min for each coat to dry. It sounds like you have the order of the coats correct.
